The Commons
A Sunday on La Grande Jatte — 1884 Georges Seurat (French, 1859–1891) The Art Institute of Chicago, Open Source
Every field needs a commons.
A place where information is shared, work is announced, resources circulate, and participation becomes possible.
This section holds the practical life of Inside Yoga—how to contribute, where to gather, and who is supporting the work.
Like any commons, it belongs to no one, and it is shaped by those who use it.
Join Us
This fall, Inside Yoga will host its first digital gathering—a multi-day summit exploring the realities, questions, and futures of working in yoga.
Conversations, panels, and interviews will center the people doing the work: teachers, organizers, studio owners, writers, and thinkers shaping the field from the inside. Details will be announced throughout the summer.
This gathering is hosted by Inside Yoga, in collaboration with Working In Yoga, and produced by Sunlight Media—a shared effort to convene conversations about the realities of working in this field.
If you’re interested in attending—or being part of the conversation—this is where it begins.
Contribute
Inside Yoga is built collaboratively.
We’re currently accepting:
Photographs of studios, classrooms, shared spaces, and the moments before or after practice
Article pitches that examine the work of yoga—teaching, organizing, sustaining, and questioning the field
We’re especially interested in work that documents the everyday rather than the exceptional.
Submission guidelines can be found here, or by reaching out directly at info@workinginyoga.com.
Our theme for Spring 2026 is The Rebuild. Deadline for submissions for this issue is January 31, 2026.
Support
This publication is sustained through shared responsibility.
Inside Yoga partners with organizations whose work aligns with the values of this field—education, care, integrity, and long-term thinking. Support helps underwrite gatherings, editorial work, and access to this publication.
Current partners will be acknowledged here.
