Values matter.

Workers First.

We support the advocacy and representation of the good, whole-hearted humans who work in the yoga industry. Representing their lives, and talking about their livelihoods, is our top priority.

Honoring Tradition.

Representing the full scope of yoga practice is our commitment. While we all teach different styles and lineages, or a hybrid of those things, we at Sunlight Media know that we are responsible for honoring all that yoga teaches, not just the moves.

Transparency Next.

Too much goes unsaid, or is whispered behind the scenes between a select few. Sunlight Media seeks to allow all yoga professionals to make decisions based on all the information, not just the select few things that make decision-makers and organizations look good.

Our Community Matters.

We do not accept the loneliness that seems to be standard in our industry. We seek to promote connections between yoga professionals of various types. We believe we will stay in this profession longer and be more fulfilled when meaningful connections among peers are purposely cultivated.

Our Vibe Is Immaculate, But Good Vibes Are Not Required.

We seek truth-telling and candor—and are unafraid to say the difficult thing. Even when it makes us feel a little scared. Building the next iteration of the yoga industry is scary. Especially when we seek to shift to a worker/professional-centered narrative, and away from a hierarchy and structure that no longer serves us.

We Believe In You.

Long has the yoga industry told us they believe in yoga. But we…we believe in YOU. You, the practitioner. You the teacher. You the trainer. You the studio owner. YOU the professional.

Who Is Sunlight Media?

For too long, the loudest voices in the yoga industry haven't been yoga professionals. It has been the organizations that credential them, the brands that sponsor them, and the platforms that profit from them.

Sunlight Media exists to shift that.

We're a podcast, a magazine, and a growing community — made by a yoga professional, written for the yoga professionals the industry forgot to consult.

This is the shift. And you are already a part of it.
